FAQ for youth exploring care jobs

Do I need a nursing degree to become a caregiver or caretaker?
No. Many caregiver, caretaker and home attendant roles do not require a nursing degree. You must, however, be willing to learn, follow instructions, and treat elders with respect.
Is accommodation or food included in care jobs?
It depends on the role. Some live-in caretaker and home nurse jobs include food and stay. Day-shift jobs may not. Each job listing will clearly mention what is included.
Are care jobs safe for youth?
Safety is taken seriously. We encourage verified employers, clear written duties, and support from care managers wherever possible. You should always know where you are going and who you are working with.
Can I apply if I have never worked as a caregiver or attender before?
Yes. If you are new, you can start with basic training and simpler roles like companion care. You learn on the job with proper guidance.
